The Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment is announcing the webcast option for the Northern California Public Workshop on releasing a draft document for public review that summarizes the carcinogenicity data and derives an updated cancer inhalation unit risk factor for ethylene oxide. At the request of the American Chemistry Council, OEHHA hereby extends the public comment period. The public comment period will now close on Wednesday, June 14, 2023.

Please join OEHHA and the Children’s Environmental Health Center for a virtual symposium series exploring the effects of heat on children and during pregnancy. This highly interactive four-session symposium will cover physiologic considerations for children and pregnancy, strategies to combat health effects in children and during pregnancy, and important considerations for these populations in the development of heat health warning systems.

The Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) announces the availability of the Notice, preliminary agenda and materials for the 2022 meeting of the Developmental and Reproductive Toxicant Identification Committee.

The Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment is releasing a draft document summarizing the toxicity and derivation of Reference Exposure Levels for 1-Bromopropane .  This document will be reviewed and discussed by the Scientific Review Panel on Toxic Air Contaminants (SRP) at its meeting on May 12, 2022 in Sacramento, CA.  RELs are airborne concentrations of a chemical that are not anticipated to result in adverse noncancer health effects for specified exposure durations in the general population, including sensitive subpopulations.

The Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) is releasing a draft document for public review, summarizing the toxicity and derivation of proposed Reference Exposure Levels (RELs) for 1-Bromopropane (1-BP). The posting of the document will commence a 45-day public review period that will end on February 22, 2022.  A remote public workshop will be held virtually on January 26, 2022 at 10:00 AM using the Zoom platform. 

The preliminary agenda for the meeting of the Developmental and Reproductive Toxicant Identification Committee (DARTIC) for possible listing of perfluorononanoic acid (PFNA) and its salts, and perfluorodecanoic acid (PFDA) and its salts, under the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 (Proposition 65) is given. The order of items on the agenda is provided for general reference only and is subject to change at the discretion of the Committee Chair.

The California Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment will convene a meeting of the Developmental and Reproductive Toxicant Identification Committee for possible listing of perfluorononanoic acid (PFNA) and its salts, and perfluorodecanoic acid and its salts, under the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986. This will also opening a 45-day public comment period on the hazard identification document for these chemicals.
