Comment Submissions - Notice of Intent to Modify a Listing by the Labor Code Mechanism: Alcoholic Beverages

The California Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) intends to modify the listing of alcoholic beverages as shown in the table below as known to the state to cause cancer under the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 (Proposition 65).  This action is being taken pursuant to the “Labor Code” listing mechanism.

This regulation establishes a MADL of 290 micrograms per day for metham sodium.  

Comment Submissions - Availability of Hazard Identification Materials for Nickel and Nickel Compounds

Nickel and nickel compounds will be considered for possible listing by the Developmental and Reproductive Toxicant Identification Committee. The meeting will be held in the Sierra Hearing Room at the CalEPA Headquarters building, 1001 I Street, Sacramento, California.  The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. and will last until all business is conducted or until 5:00 p.m.

Comment Submissions - Proposed Adoption of Exposures to Listed Chemicals in Coffee Posing No Significant Risk

A public hearing will be held on August 16, 2018, at which time any person may make comments orally or in writing on the proposed action described in this notice. 

The comment period will be extended to on this proposed amendment has been extended to 5:00 pm, Thursday, July 5, 2018.

The listing of TRIM® VX is based on formal identification by the National Toxicology Program (NTP), an authoritative body, that the chemical causes cancer.  The criteria used by OEHHA for the listing of chemicals under the “authoritative bodies” mechanism can be found in Title 27, Cal. Code of Regs., section 25306.
