This notice announces the beginning of the public comment period on the five chemicals listed below.  These chemicals will be discussed at the next meeting of the Proposition 65 Developmental and Reproductive Toxicant Identification Committee (DARTIC).  The DARTIC is the state’s qualified experts on reproductive toxicity for purposes of the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 (Proposition 65).

Notice of intent to list chemicals - Additional extension of public comment period: (2,4-dichlorphenoxy) acetic acid; 2,4-D n-butyl ester; 2,4-D isopropyl ester; 2,4-D isooctyl ester; propylene gylcol butyl ether ester (of 2,4-D); 2,4-D butoxyethanol ester; and 2,4-D dimethylamine salt.

Frito-Lay asks OEHHA to determine that consumption of Frito-Lay snack food products processed from corn or made with ingredients processed from corn does not present an “exposure” to fumonisin B1 under Proposition 65 that would require a warning. A public hearing will be convened on Tuesday, March 11, 2008.
