This material is being sent in response to the above call for evidence. The following are journal papers that I have co-authored on this topic - the pdfs of these are attached: Bateman et al. (2004) and McCann et al. (2007) are doubled blind randomised cross-over controlled trials of exposure to food colours and a preservative on behaviour in general population samples in the UK. Stevenson et al. (2010) examines the role of genetic polymorphisms in moderating the impact of food additives on behaviour reported in McCann et al. (2007). Sonuga-Barke et al (2013) and Stevenson et al. (2014) are reviews and meta-analyses of a range of treatments, including food dye removal and other dietary approaches, for ADHD.
