This notice announces the beginning of a 45-day public comment period on the chemicals that will be discussed at a public meeting of the Proposition 65 Developmental and Reproductive Toxicant Identification Committee (DARTIC) scheduled for Thursday, December 10, 2020.

Sep 25, 2020: Notice of Public Hearing Title 27, California Code of Regulations Proposed Amendments to Article 5 - Extent of Exposure Adoption of Section 25505 Exposures to Listed Chemicals in Cooked or Heat Processed Foods

OEHHA has scheduled a public hearing on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. In accordance with Governor Newsom’s Executive Orders N-29-20 and N-33-20 as well as recommendations from the California Department of Public Health, the hearing will not have a physical location.

his notice announces the beginning of a 45-day public comment period on seven chemicals. These chemicals will be discussed at a public meeting of the Proposition 65 Carcinogen Identification Committee (CIC) scheduled for Tuesday, November 17, 2020. The meeting will be held virtually.

Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment proposes to amend Title 27, California Code of Regulations, by adopting Section 25505 Exposures to Listed Chemicals in Cooked or Heat Processed Foods.

Jul 8, 2020: Notice of Adoption of Amendment to Section 25805 Specific Regulatory Levels: Chemicals Causing Reproductive Toxicity Maximum Allowable Dose Levels For Chlorpyrifos (Oral, Inhalation And Dermal Exposures)

The oral and inhalation MADLs established by this amendment are both 0.58 micrograms per day, and the dermal MADL is 7.2 micrograms per day for chlorpyrifos.

May 22, 2020: Notice Of Proposed Rulemaking Amendment to Section 25705 Specific Regulatory Levels Posing No Significant Risk: Dichloroacetic Acid

Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) proposes to adopt a Proposition 65 No Significant Risk Level (NSRL) of 17 micrograms per day for dichloroacetic acid, by amending Title 27, California Code of Regulations, section 25705(b).

May 22, 2020: Notice Of Proposed Rulemaking Amendment to Section 25705 Specific Regulatory Levels Posing No Significant Risk: Trichloroacetic Acid

Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) proposes to adopt a Proposition 65 No Significant Risk Level (NSRL) of 9.9 micrograms per day for trichloroacetic acid, by amending Title 27, California Code of Regulations, section 25705(b).

May 22, 2020: Notice Of Proposed Rulemaking Amendment to Section 25705 Specific Regulatory Levels Posing No Significant Risk: Dibromoacetic Acid

Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) proposes to adopt a Proposition 65 No Significant Risk Level (NSRL) of 2.8 micrograms per day for dibromoacetic acid, by amending Title 27, California Code of Regulations, section 25705(b).  

Apr 9, 2020: Issuance of Safe Use Determination for Exposures to Bisphenol A from Certain Polycarbonate Eyewear Products Manufactured, Distributed, or Sold by The Vision Council Member Companies

OEHHA received a request for a Safe Use Determination (SUD) for exposures to bisphenol A (BPA) [2] from certain polycarbonate eyewear products manufactured, distributed, or sold by The Vision Council (TVC) member companies.  The request was made by TVC, pursuant to Title 27 of the California Code of Regulations, section 25204(b)(3).

Carcinogen Identification Meeting Postponed and OEHHA has decided not to reschedule the meeting until after the COVID-19 emergency has passed.

Mar 13, 2020: Notice of Augmentation of Record and Extension of the Public Comment Period for Proposed Regulation - Amendments to Sections 25602, 25607, 25607.1, and 25607.3

OEHHA is giving notice of this augmentation of the record and hereby extending the comment period by 15 days. OEHHA published the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking for the proposed amendments on January 31, 2020, in the California Regulatory Notice Register (Z-2020-0117-01), which initiated a public comment period that was to close on March 16, 2020.  OEHHA will now accept written comments on the proposed amendments and this augmentation of the record through March 31, 2020.

OEHHA received a request for a Safe Use Determination (SUD) for exposures to crystalline silica in four Woodwise® wood filler products. The request was made by Design Hardwood Products, Inc. (DHPI), pursuant to Title 27 of the California Code of Regulations, section 25204(b)(3).

The proposed amendment is to clarify certain provisions of the regulations addressing consumer product exposure warnings, specific product, chemical and area exposure warnings, food exposure warnings, and alcoholic beverage exposure warnings. This notice also opens a comment period that will close on March 16, 2020.

Jan 23, 2020: Chemicals Listed Effective January 3, 2020 As Known to The State of California To Cause Reproductive Toxicity (Developmental Endpoint): Cannabis (Marijuana) Smoke and Δ9-Tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ9-THC)

At a public meeting on December 11, 2019, the Developmental and Reproductive Toxicant Identification Committee in its official capacity as the “state’s qualified experts” determined that cannabis (marijuana) smoke and Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ9-THC) were shown to cause reproductive toxicity based on the developmental endpoint.
