Sep 24, 2021: Announcement of the Carcinogen Identification Committee Meeting Scheduled for December 6, 2021; Notice of Availability of Hazard Identification Materials for Perfluorooctane Sulfonic Acid (PFOS) and Its Salts and Transformation and Degradation Precursors

PFOS and its salts and transformation and degradation precursors will be considered for possible listing under Proposition 65 at a public meeting scheduled for Monday, December 6, 2021. The meeting, which will be held virtually, will begin at 10:00 a.m. and last until all business is conducted or until 5:00 p.m. The agenda for the meeting and instructions on how to participate will be provided in a future public notice published in advance of the meeting.

Sep 14, 2021: Amendment to Section 25705 No Significant Risk Level for Dibromoacetic Acid

The regulation will be effective on October 1, 2021. This regulation establishes a No Significant Risk Level of 2.8 micrograms per day for dibromoacetic acid for purposes of Proposition 65.

Sep 14, 2021: Amendment to Section 25705 No Significant Risk Level for Dichloroacetic Acid

This regulation establishes a No Significant Risk Level of 17 micrograms per day for dichloroacetic acid for purposes of Proposition 65.

Sep 14, 2021: Amendment to Section 25705 No Significant Risk Level for Trichloroacetic Acid

This regulation establishes a No Significant Risk Level of 9.9 micrograms per day for trichloroacetic acid for purposes of Proposition 65.

Jun 11, 2021: Notice of Intent to List Chemicals by the Labor Code Mechanism: Tetrahydrofuran; 2-ethylhexyl Acrylate; Methyl Acrylate; and Trimethylolpropane Triacrylate, Technical Grade

The California Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) intends to list the following chemicals as known to the state to cause cancer under the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986: Tetrahydrofuran, 2-Ethylhexyl acrylate, Methyl acrylate, Trimethylolpropane triacrylate.

May 4, 2021: Notice of Public Hearing and Extension of Comment Period for Proposed Amendments to Article 6 Clear and Reasonable Warnings Cannabis (Marijuana) Smoke and Delta-9-THC Exposure Warnings New Sections 25607.38 – 25607.47

Apr 9, 2021: Notice of Extension of Data Call in Period for NSRL for 1,3-Dichloropropene

At the request of the Dow Chemical Company, OEHHA hereby extends the request for information on 1,3-dichloropropene that will inform OEHHA’s development of a safe harbor level for this chemical. The request for information will now close on Wednesday, May 26, 2021. 

Mar 26, 2021: Chemical Selected for Consideration for Listing by the Carcinogen Identification Committee and Request for Relevant Information on the Carcinogenic Hazard of: PFOS and its salts and Transformation and Degradation Precursors

Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) has selected perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) and its salts and transformation and degradation precursors (referred to hereafter as “this chemical”) for the Carcinogen Identification Committee's (CIC) review for possible listing under Proposition 65.

Mar 26, 2021: December 10, 2020 Meeting of the Developmental and Reproductive Toxicant Identification Committee Meeting

A meeting of the Proposition 65 Developmental and Reproductive Toxicant Identification Committee (DARTIC), DARTIC provided the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) with its advice concerning the relative priority of 22 chemicals (or chemical groups) for possible consideration for listing at future meetings of the DARTIC.

Mar 19, 2021: Chemicals Listed Effective March 19, 2021 As Known to The State Of California to Cause Cancer: Molybdenum Trioxide and Indium Tin Oxide

The Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) is adding molybdenum trioxide (CAS No. 1313-27-5) and indium tin oxide (CAS No. 50926-11-9) to the list of chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer for purposes of Proposition 65

Mar 5, 2021: Notice of Public Hearing and Extension of Public Comment Period: Amendments to Article 6, Clear and Reasonable Warnings Short-form Warnings

OEHHA has scheduled a public hearing on March 11, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. The hearing will be conducted remotely and the public comment period for this regulatory action is being extended to March 29, 2021, to accommodate the hearing. There are two ways that you can view the Public Hearing on Proposed Amendments to Regulations under Article 6 – Short Form Warnings.

OEHHA will be using the GoToWebinar platform for this meeting.  If you wish to provide oral public comments at the meeting, you must register as an attendee. While we encourage advance registration and request that registered attendees join the webinar at least 5 minutes before the 10:00 am meeting start time, registration will not close until after the meeting is adjourned.

Dec 18, 2020: Notice to Interested Parties Developmental Toxicity Endpoint Reinstated for the Listing of Bisphenol A (BPA) as Known to the State of California to Cause Reproductive Toxicity

Effective December 18, 2020, the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) is adding the developmental endpoint to the existing reproductive toxicity (female endpoint) listing of bisphenol A (BPA) (CAS RN. 80-05-7) on the Proposition 65 list of chemicals known to the State to cause cancer or reproductive toxicity.  The listing now includes an additional endpoint, developmental toxicity.

Dec 15, 2020: Amendment to Section 25705 Specific Regulatory Levels Posing No Significant Risk: p-Chloro-α,α,α-Trifluorotoluene

Proposition 65 No Significant Risk Level (NSRL) of 23 micrograms per day for the chemical p-chloro-α,α,α-trifluorotoluene (PCBTF).  The regulation will be effective on April 1, 2021.

Oct 5, 2020: Notice of Cancellation of Public Hearing - Exposures to Listed Chemicals in Cooked or Heat Processed Foods

OEHHA is cancelling the public hearing scheduled to occur on October 13, 2020. Members of the public may continue to submit written comments until the close of the extended public comment period, October 21, 2020.
