Proposal to amend Section 25707, which would remove the reference to hexavalent chromium in Section 25707(b)(4) as posing no significant risk when ingested, based on recent scientific findings that establish that chromium (hexavalent compounds) can be carcinogenic by the oral route.
On June 24, 2011, the California Environmental Protection Agency’s (Cal/EPA) Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) published a notice extending the public comment period soliciting information as to whether hydrogen cyanide and cyanide salts meet the authoritative bodies listing criteria set forth in the Proposition 65 regulations in Title 27, Cal.
