Extension of Comment Period - MADL for Reproductive Toxicity For Di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP) by Intravenous Injection

Notice of Addition of Documents and Information to Rulemaking File, OAL FILE Z-01-1019-06 Amendment to Title 22, California Code of Regulations Section 12805, Specific Regulatory Levels: Chemicals Causing Reproductive Toxicity (Proposition 65 Maximum Allowable Dose Level (MADL) for Reproductive Toxicity for Di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) by Intravenous Injection) - Extension 15-day

On August 17, 2005, the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) provided notice that documents and other information which the agency has relied upon in proposing the amendment to Title 22, California Code of Regulations, Section 12805, had been added to the rulemaking file and are available for public inspection and comment.

That notice identified all relevant documents which had not been previously included in the Rulemaking File OAL FILE Z-01-1019-06, but that had been considered by OEHHA in establishing the proposed maximum allowable dose levels (MADLs) for DEHP by the intravenous route. Of these documents, 18 citations for the intravenous MADL were not included in the MADL support document published on June 24, 2005 that laid out the basis for the proposed MADLs: Proposition 65 Maximum Allowable Dose Level (MADL) for Reproductive Toxicity for Di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP) by Intravenous Injection (OEHHA, June 2005). These 18 citations were papers that became available to OEHHA after preparation of the MADL document was completed. OEHHA reviewed these papers as they became available, and determined that no revisions to the MADL document were necessitated by these papers. Thus, these papers are sources of potentially relevant information that was considered by OEHHA but which did not directly contribute to the development of the MADLs and which were not cited in the MADL document.

The documents identified in the Notice of August 17, 2005, are available for inspection at the OEHHA’s office located at 1001 “I” Street, 19th Floor, Sacramento, CA from August 17, 2005 through September 15, 2005, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. This notice extends the public comment period to September 15. If you have any comments regarding the documents or other information related to the August 17 notice, OEHHA will accept written comments until September 15, 2005. All written comments must be submitted to OEHHA by mail, fax, courier or hand-delivered, no later than 5:00 p.m. on September 15, 2005, and addressed to:
