Fish consumption advisory for Lake Casitas, located approximately 8 miles northwest of the city of Ventura, in Ventura County provides safe-eating advice for black bass species, Common Carp, sunfish species and Threadfin Shad.

El Departamento de Reglamentación de Pesticidas (DPR por sus siglas en inglés) de California ha propuesto nuevas reglamentaciones elaboradas de manera conjunta y mutua con la Oficina de Evaluación de Riesgos para la Salud Ambiental (OEHHA, por sus siglas en inglés) para proteger espectadores ocupacionales en los alrededores de campos tratados para reducir su riesgo de exposición al 1,3-D.

Under the authority of California Food and Agricultural Code Section 12980 and 12981, OEHHA has prepared health-based recommendations for DPR to address potential cancer risks to occupational bystanders from the use of 1,3-dichloropropene (1,3-D).

The California Department Pesticide Regulation has proposed new regulations, developed jointly and mutually with the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment, to protect occupational bystanders in the general vicinity of a treated field to reduce the risk of 1,3-D exposure.

Fish consumption advisory for the Modesto Reservoir, located approximately 20 miles east of the city of Modesto, in Stanislaus County provides safe-eating advice for black bass species, Common Carp, sunfish species and Threadfin Shad.

OEHHA researches and presents information related to wildfires and its health effects including development of guidance and fact sheets, epidemiological research, and measurement of wildfire as a climate change indicator.

The Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) has amended Title 27, California Code of Regulations 25607.2(b), to provide an additional safe harbor warning option for businesses that cause significant exposures to acrylamide in food products. 

OEHHA will convene a meeting of the Carcinogen Identification Committee (CIC) for possible listing of vinyl acetate. OEHHA is also opening a 45-day public comment period on the hazard identification document for this chemical. The public comment period will end on Monday, November 18, 2024.

OEHHA will convene a meeting of the Developmental and Reproductive Toxicant Identification Committee (DARTIC). At this meeting the DARTIC will consider the possible listing of bisphenol S (BPS). OEHHA is also opening a 45-day public comment period on the hazard identification document entitled “Evidence on the Male Reproductive Toxicity of Bisphenol S.”
