The workshop is provided to enable a dialogue between OEHHA scientists and the public to discuss the scientific basis of the proposed PHG updates, and to receive comments.

Comment period on the proposed update of the PHGs for nitrate and nitrite published in 1997.  OEHHA is proposing to retain the original PHG values.

The updated PHGs are 0.7 parts per billion (ppb) for carbofuran, 6 ppb for diquat, 0.3 ppb for endrin, 166 ppb for picloram, and 42 ppb for thiobencarb, all based on non-cancer effects.

Includes changes in critical study and endpoint selection, and updated dose-response analysis and exposure estimates.  These changes resulted in the revision of the antimony PHG to 1 ppb.

2nd public comment period proposed updated PHGs for Carbofuran (0.7 ppb), Diquat (6 ppb), Endrin (0.3 ppb), Picloram (166 ppb), and Thiobencarb (42 ppb) in drinking water.
