The Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) is releasing a draft document summarizing the carcinogenicity and derivation of a cancer inhalation unit risk factor (IUR) for p‑Chloro-α,α,α-trifluorotoluene (p-chlorobenzotrifluoride, PCBTF). IURs are used to estimate lifetime cancer risks associated with inhalation exposure to a carcinogen.
At a public meeting on December 11, 2019, the Developmental and Reproductive Toxicant Identification Committee in its official capacity as the “state’s qualified experts” determined that cannabis (marijuana) smoke and Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ9-THC) were shown to cause reproductive toxicity based on the developmental endpoint.
The Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) announces the availability of n Proposition 65 interpretive guideline for residential exposure to dichlorvos (DDVP) in naled bait stations and lures during invasive pest eradication program activities.
OEHHA received a request for a Safe Use Determination (SUD) for styrene in Fiber Care Baths, Inc. bathware products. The request was made by Tech America Corp. on behalf of Fiber Care Baths, Inc., pursuant to Title 27 of the California Code of Regulations, section 25204(b)(3).
The public comment period will commence on November 29, 2019 and end on January 27, 2020. All comments received will be provided to the committee for their consideration. The CIC meeting will be rescheduled after the close of the public comment period.
OEHHA is issuing the following SUDs to Syngenta Crop Protection, LLC for chlorothalonil exposures resulting from consumption of residues in certain foods, as specified below.
