I urge OEHHA to revise the score for East Palo Alto to better reflect its true pollution burden. The community is directly impacted by major regional pollution sources, including traffic emissions from U.S. Highway 101 and State Route 84, which contribute significantly to diesel particulate matter exposure. In addition, residents are affected by legacy contamination and hazardous materials associated with the nearby Ravenswood Industrial Area, as well as proximity to the San Mateo County Landfill, which has long raised concerns about air quality and toxic emissions.
