15-Day Extension of Data Submission Period for Initiation of Risk Assessments for Chemicals in Drinking Water
On October 28, 2016, the California Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) published in the California Regulatory Notice Register (Register 2016, No. 44-Z) an Announcement of Process to Update Public Health Goals for Chemicals in Drinking Water under the Calderon-Sher California Safe Drinking Water Act of 1996. The chemicals for which initiation of reviews were announced are:
- Hexavalent Chromium
The October 28 notice requested information on these chemicals that could assist in updating the risk assessments and initiated a 30-day data submission period that was scheduled to close on November 28, 2016. OEHHA has received a request from the Nickel Producers Environmental Research Association seeking an extension of the data submission period for information relating to nickel. OEHHA hereby extends the submission period for information relating to nickel until 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 13, 2016.
All information submitted to OEHHA in response to this request is considered public. Please do not submit proprietary information. OEHHA encourages submission of information in electronic form, rather than in paper form. Information transmitted by e-mail should be addressed to PHG.Program@oehha.ca.gov with the chemical name in the subject line. Information submitted in paper form may be mailed or delivered in person to the address below:
