Request for Information on the Neurologic and Neurobehavioral Impacts of Synthetic Food Dyes

The Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) is conducting a risk assessment of the potential impacts of synthetic food dyes on children, particularly for neurobehavioral and other neurologic effects. OEHHA plans to include the following food dyes in its assessment:

As an initial step, OEHHA is requesting information relating to possible exposures and neurologic and neurobehavioral impacts of synthetic food dyes.  The data call-in starts October 22, 2018 and runs through December 21, 2018.  You may submit to OEHHA any studies or other relevant information electronically to:

In conducting this risk assessment, OEHHA plans to evaluate the toxicology, epidemiology, clinical, and exposure literature and databases

As with OEHHA’s other risk assessment processes, this assessment will include a public review period and scientific peer review.  OEHHA’s webpage for this study will be periodically updated as the study progresses.
