A meeting of the Proposition 65[1] Developmental and Reproductive Toxicant Identification Committee (DARTIC)[2] was held on October 27, 2016, at the California Environmental Protection Agency headquarters building in Sacramento, California. The committee reconsidered the listing of chloroform as known to the state to cause reproductive toxicity.

SUMMARY OF THE LISTING DECISION FOR CHLOROFORM
The DARTIC made the following determination:
- Chloroform has been clearly shown through scientifically valid testing according to generally accepted principles to cause reproductive toxicity, based on the developmental endpoint, by a majority vote (5-2). Consequently, chloroform will remain on the list for the developmental endpoint.
UPDATE OF THE SECTION 27000 LIST OF CHEMICALS WHICH HAVE NOT BEEN ADEQUATELY TESTED AS REQUIRED
The DARTIC voted unanimously in favor of updating the Section 27000 list of Chemicals That Have Not Been Adequately Tested As Required, based on information provided by the California Department of Pesticide Regulation and the US Environmental Protection Agency.
STAFF UPDATES
The Committee was provided with updates on activities related to chemical listings, adoption of Safe Harbor Levels, Proposition 65 litigation and other regulatory activities.
