Feb 23, 2018: Proposed Amendments to Article 6 Clear and Reasonable Warnings Residential Rental Property Exposure Warnings New Sections 25607.34 and 25607.35

OEHHA has received a request to adopt tailored safe harbor exposure warnings for exposures to listed chemicals that can occur at residential rental properties, and is proposing this rulemaking in response to that request.

Feb 16, 2018: Amendment to Section 25705 No Significant Risk Level for Malathion

OEHHA has adopted a No Significant Risk Level (NSRL) of 180 micrograms per day for Malathion.

OEHHA intends to list TRIM® VX as known to the state to cause cancer via the authoritative bodies mechanism. OEHHA is providing this opportunity to comment as to whether the chemical meets the requirements for listing as causing cancer.

Jan 26, 2018: Proposed Amendment to Section 25805 Specific Regulatory Levels: Chemicals Causing Reproductive Toxicity Metham Sodium

The proposed change would establish a Proposition 65 Maximum Allowable Dose Level (MADL) for exposure to metham sodium of 290 micrograms per day.

Both chemicals were considered by the Developmental and Reproductive Toxicant Identification Committee (DARTIC) in its official capacity as the “state’s qualified experts” at a public meeting held on November 29, 2017.

The amendments were approved by the Office of Administrative Law on November 20, 2017 and will become operative on August 30, 2018

OEHHA has received a request from California Rural Legal Assistance Foundation seeking an extension of the comment period for a SUD for chlorothalonil in certain foods.  OEHHA hereby extends the public comment period until 5 p.m., Monday, December 18, 2017 for the materials on chlorothalonil.

Nov 17, 2017: Chlorpyrifos and n-Hexane Scheduled for Consideration for Listing at the November 29, 2017 Meeting of the Developmental and Reproductive Toxicant Identification Committee

The Developmental and Reproductive Toxicant Identification Committee (DARTIC) of OEHHA’s Science Advisory Board will be considering Chlorpyrifos and n-hexane for possible listing at its next meeting scheduled for Wednesday, November 29, 2017.

Nov 9, 2017: Chemicals Listed Effective November 10, 2017 as Known to the State of California to Cause Reproductive Toxicity: Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA) and Perfluorooctane Sulfonate (PFOS)

PFOS and PFOA added to Proposition 65 list based on formal identification by the US Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA), an authoritative body, that the chemicals cause reproductive toxicity.
