Extension of Comment Period - Famciclovir, Atorvastatin calcium, Fluvastatin sodium and Nimodipine
The Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 (Proposition 65) requires the Governor to publish, and update at least annually, a list of chemicals known to the State to cause cancer or reproductive toxicity. The Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) is the lead agency for the implementation of Proposition 65.
On September 29, 2000, OEHHA published a notice in the California Regulatory Notice Register (Register 2000, No. 39-Z) soliciting information which may be relevant to the evaluation of certain chemicals under consideration for possible administrative listing within the context of the Proposition 65 administrative listing regulatory criteria in Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations (22 CCR) Section 12306.
A public forum was held on October 26, 2000 in Oakland, California to provide an opportunity for interested parties to present oral comments and to discuss the scientific data and other information relevant to a determination whether these chemicals meet the criteria for listing set forth in 22 CCR Section 12306. OEHHA has received requests to extend the comment period for famciclovir, atorvastatin calcium, fluvastatin sodium and nimodipine to allow for the submittal of complete and relevant scientific information. OEHHA hereby extends the public comment period to Friday, December 8, 2000 for famciclovir and to Thursday, December 28, 2000 for atorvastatin calcium, fluvastatin sodium, and nimodipine.
