Correction to the List of Chemicals as Known to the State of California to Cause Cancer or Reproductive Toxicity: Erionite

The Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) is making a correction to the list of chemicals as known to the State of California to cause cancer or reproductive toxicity which was published on June 6, 2003 in the California Regulatory Notice Register (Register 03, No. 23-Z). The chemical, erionite, was listed on October 1, 1988 as a chemical known to the State to cause cancer with a Chemical Abstract Service (CAS) number of 12510-42-8. It was recently brought to OEHHA's attention that there is an additional CAS number, 66733-21-9, assigned to the chemical erionite. Accordingly for clarification, the chemical erionite is listed with two CAS numbers as a chemical known to the State to cause cancer.

Following is the correct listing for the chemical:

Cancer

CAS No.
Date of Listing
Erionite 12510-42-8 12510-42-8/ 66733-21-9 October 1, 1988

A complete, corrected chemical list is published elsewhere in this issue of the California Regulatory Notice Register.
