Additional Information on Chlorpyrifos - Toxicity Profile

On September 5, 2008, the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) released a hazard identification document (HID) for chlorpyrifos as a candidate for listing as known to cause reproductive toxicity under Proposition 65.  The Developmental and Reproductive Toxicant Identification Committee (DARTIC) of OEHHA’s Science Advisory Board will determine whether chlorpyrifos has been clearly shown to cause reproductive toxicity at a public meeting to be held on November 20, 2008.

It was recently brought to the attention of OEHHA that a relevant study of the developmental toxicity of chlorpyrifos had been inadvertently omitted from the HID.  In order to allow the DARTIC to review as complete a data set as possible, OEHHA has provided the Committee with a summary of the study equivalent to the summaries provided for other studies in the HID, as well as a copy of the entire study report.  A copy of the study summary can be obtained at www.oehha.ca.gov , or by calling the Proposition 65 Implementation Office at (916) 445-6900.
