Good afternoon my name is Joe Eberstein I am the Program manager for the San Diego County Marijuana Prevention Initiative. Their is mounting evidence that THC can effect your health negatively, This group should be aware of the case of Le’Sharia Bre’Aun Steele October 2020 who consumed a kushy punch tropical hybrid gummy and sadly passed away. The family lawyer stated “These companies disguise and market their products as safe, fun and healthy, going so far as to represent to consumers that the products ‘deliver(ed) the well being and relief to all those that seek it.’ What they do not tell consumers is that the use of their products carry extreme risk of serious injury or even death”. The case is an example of little to no consumer protections about harms associated with marijuana/THC. The public needs consumer protections!
