Extension of the Public Comment Period for the Notice of Intent To List: Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA) and Perfluorooctane Sulfonate (PFOS)

On September 16, 2016, the California Environmental Protection Agency’s (CalEPA) Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) published in the California Regulatory Notice Register (Register 2016, No. 38-Z) a Notice of Intent to List perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) as causing reproductive toxicity under the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986[1].

The September 16 notice initiated a 30‑day public comment period that was scheduled to close on October 17, 2016.  OEHHA has received a request from the 3M Company seeking an extension of the comment period for the Notice of Intent to List perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS).  OEHHA hereby extends the public comment period until 5 p.m., Wednesday, November 16, 2016.
