Exposure Assessment for Imidacloprid: Soil Application to Non-Commercial Citrus Trees for Asian Citrus Psyllid Control
OEHHA recently assessed exposure of young children, women of child-bearing age, and adults to imidacloprid following treatment by the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) to control the Asian Citrus Psyllid (ACP), an invasive species. OEHHA found that consumption of fruit from ACP treated trees was the major exposure route but exposures via this route were well below Reference Dose levels (doses below which adverse health effects are not expected) set by the California Department of Pesticide Regulation and the US Environmental Protection Agency. Therefore, exposure to imidacloprid via CDFA's ACP control treatments is not expected to result in adverse health effects
