Extension of Comment Period - Chemicals Selected by OEHHA for Consideration for Listing by the Carcinogen Identification Committee and Request for Relevant Information

On October 16, 2009, the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) published a notice in the California Regulatory Notice Register (Register 2009, No. 42-Z) soliciting information relevant to the assessment of the evidence of carcinogenicity for (1,3-DCP), 3‑monochloropropane-1,2-diol (3-MCPD), and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and its salts and transformation and degradation precursors.  OEHHA has received requests to extend the comment period for these chemicals to allow for the submittal of complete and relevant scientific information.  OEHHA hereby extends the public comment period for 1,3-DCP and 3-MCPD to 5 p.m., Thursday, January 7, 2010 and for PFOA and its salts and precursors to 5 p.m., Thursday, January 14, 2010.

Submittal of materials in electronic form is encouraged.  It is requested that all hard-copy materials be submitted in triplicate.

Submissions may also be delivered in person or by courier to the above address.  In order to be considered, the relevant information must be received at OEHHA (if delivered in person or sent by FAX) by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2010 (for 1,3-DCP and 3-MCPD) and Thursday, January 14, 2010 (for PFOA).
