Director Zeise, Prop 65 labels are so prevalent in CA store shelves that they have become "white noise" and thus are meaningless to the average consumer. This is due to virtually every manufacture just defaulting to add a label on every product they manufacture in fear of unknowingly missing one that actually requires it. As is typical, more regulation leads to the opposite effect of what was intended. For consumers to take the labelling seriously, less labels are needed, not more. How serious is the consumer going to take a warning label that was intended to warn against truly hazardous, cancer causing materials, when it is included on everyday products such as coffee? The entire bill needs to be thrown out and start over. This bill just makes it easier for opportunistic attorneys to extort money out of businesses with no positive effect of protecting consumers.
