Occurrence/Use
Lead is used in batteries, ballast, electrodes, construction materials, glazes, and as a radiation shield. Lead is also a component of tobacco smoke. Lead compounds are used as glazes, pigments, anti-knock additives in aviation fuel, semiconductors, and ammunition.
