Notice of Extension of Public Comment Period for Availability of Hazard Identification Materials for Chlorpyrifos
On September 1, 2017, the California Environmental Protection Agency’s (Cal/EPA) Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) published a notice in the California Regulatory Notice Register (Register 2017, No. 35-Z) announcing the availability of Hazard Identification Materials for two chemicals, chlorpyrifos, and n-hexane, under the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986.[1]
The September 1 notice initiated a 45‑day public comment period that was scheduled to close on October 16, 2017. OEHHA has received a request from Dow Agrosciences LLC seeking an extension of the comment period for the Hazard Identification Materials for chlorpyrifos. OEHHA hereby extends the public comment period until 5 p.m., Tuesday, October 24, 2017 for the materials on chlorpyrifos.
Comments on the hazard identification materials on chlorpyrifos may be submitted electronically through our website at https://oehha.ca.gov/comments. Comments submitted in paper form can be mailed, faxed, or delivered in person to the address below.

Comments received during the public comment period will be posted on the OEHHA website in advance of the meeting. Electronic files submitted should not have any form of encryption because OEHHA is subject to the California Public Records Act and other laws that require the release of certain information upon request.
