Hello, I am a resident of Downtown Los Angeles. I noticed that Census Tract 6037207900 on 4.0 (and also on 3.0) is not in the > 90-100 pollution percentile category under the provisions of this methodology for pollution burden. I believe this specified census tract should be reexamined for inclusion in the top ten percentile. There is a swath of community members across DTLA, including myself in this tract, who know that it stands out from the norm and that this tract is subject to different environmental and pollution pressures - this is due to a large Petroleum Site, the only operating oil well in the aging downtown oil field and all of the core Central LA area. It is out of sight from the naked eye and not well known broadly, but is very well known at the community and tract level for its impact. Here is a link to a recent ProPublica Article covering this site finally in detail and including noted effects on residents, "Are California Oil Companies Complying With the Law? Even Regulators Often Don’t Know": https://www.propublica.org/article/are-california-oil-companies-complying-with-the-law-even-regulators-often-dont-know I recommend wholeheartedly that OEHHA potentially reevaluate this census tract. I have attached a screenshot of the selected tract. Thank you for your time.
