The California Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) has selected bisphenol A (BPA) for the Carcinogen Identification Committee (CIC)’s review for possible listing under Proposition 65.

A meeting of the Proposition 65 Developmental and Reproductive Toxicant Identification Committee (DARTIC) was held via webcast and webinar on December 14, 2021. The main agenda items were committee consideration of perfluorononanoic acid (PFNA) and its salts and perfluorodecanoic acid (PFDA) and its salts as known to the state to cause reproductive toxicity (based on male reproductive toxicity)

The Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) is releasing a draft document for public review, summarizing the toxicity and derivation of proposed Reference Exposure Levels (RELs) for 1-Bromopropane (1-BP). The posting of the document will commence a 45-day public review period that will end on February 22, 2022.  A remote public workshop will be held virtually on January 26, 2022 at 10:00 AM using the Zoom platform.

Effective December 31, 2021, the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) is adding Perfluorononanoic acid (PFNA) and its salts to the list of chemicals known to the state to cause reproductive toxicity for purposes of the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 (Proposition 65).

Effective December 24, 2021, the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) is adding perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (PFOS) and its salts and transformation and degradation precursors to the list of chemicals known to the state to cause cancer for purposes of the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 (Proposition 65)

Effective December 17, 2021, the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) is adding tetrahydrofuran (CAS No. 109-99-9), 2-ethylhexyl acrylate (CAS No. 103-11-7), methyl acrylate (CAS No. 96-33-3), and trimethylolpropane triacrylate, technical grade to the list of chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer for purposes of Proposition 65

A state fish advisory issued today for Los Banos Reservoir in Merced County provides safe eating advice for black bass species, Common Carp, sunfish species and Threadfin Shad.
