Radionuclides Health Based Screening Levels

The following memorandum from OEHHA to the Department of Health Services, and the supporting technical documents, are intended to provide information on health risks from radionuclides in drinking water, for the radionuclide screening assays. The purpose of radionuclide screening is to identify excessive radioactivity from any of a long list of possible isotopes in water. PHGs are being prepared on several of the radioactive isotopes most commonly detected in drinking water. For more details, please see the documents below.
