Cumulative Impacts: Building a Scientific Foundation Report
In 2010 CalEPA and OEHHA released the report “Cumulative Impacts: Building a Scientific Foundation.” This report presents the first step in developing a screening methodology to evaluate the cumulative impacts of multiple sources of pollution in specific communities or geographic areas. The scientific screening methodology was intended to initiate the development of cumulative impact guidelines for use by the boards, departments and office of CalEPA. The screening methodology was used to guide the development of the CalEnviroScreen.
The draft of this report was the subject of a public workshop and a meeting of the Cumulative Impacts and Precautionary Approaches (CIPA) Work Group on September 2, 2012. The draft report was revised based upon comments received at these meetings as well as written public comments from interested parties.
The final and draft report is available for download below.
